ROLLED/FLAKED RICE FROM BROWN GRAINS
Rice Flakes are derived from brown grains of rice, that have been rolled into flat flakes under heavy rollers. Prime Australian rice is a natural grain sourced from growers who have declared their crops to be free of genetically modified organisms.
Blue Lake Flaked/Rolled Rice is an un-malted adjunct that provides additional body, with a clean taste. It does not have the enzymes needed for conversion, so it should be mashed with malted grains.
Used in brewing to reduce the body and colour of a beer, usually an American or Japanese style lager. Can also be used tactically to reduce the 'syrupyness' of a high abv or IBU IPA or similar.
Something to consider is that flaked rice obviously has no husk, so it can cause the mash to become sticky and if you are using it in proportions higher than about 15% you may want to add some rice hulls to aid in lautering the mash.
