First Gold is a versatile hop, with good aroma and bittering qualities perfect for more modern beer styles. Much of the flavour of female parent Whitbread Golding variety hop seems to have been retained but with an added extra citrus quality – resulting in a well-balanced bitterness and a fruity, slightly orangey spicy note.
